VINCENZO MISTRETTA is a filmmaker and visual artist who works in Film, Video and Painting. His films deal with the hand manipulation of the celluloid remnant of the early avant-garde materialist and structuralist movements. He also experiments with a hybrid narrative form and documentary. The themes in his work spread from cultural identity, political activism, and using film language as a way to challenge the concept of the narrative. His interests in political activism has led him to produce a series of Documentary video's on the Women in Black peace network in Buffalo and NYC. In 2006 he was awarded a fellowship from the Fulbright Foundation to continue his research and documentation of the Women in Black peace network in Rome, Italy.
