State of the Wheel - Welcome

Posted by dorothea

Dear friends of Squeaky Wheel!

Welcome to the first edition of State of the Wheel, Squeaky’s new blog, providing a more detailed glimpse of what we do here, with some reviews of screenings and workshops you might have missed, and what you can look forward to when you visit us in the future. 2009 is starting on a really good note for us, with lots of exciting news to share – read on!

Most immediately, we are all looking forward to celebrate Peepshow: A Secret Worth Keeping, on Saturday, February 21, at the legendary Dnipro Ukrainian Center!

Other very exciting news: Squeaky Wheel has a storefront again! Starting this month, we are renting the upstairs room next to Squeaky’s entrance at 712 Main Street, which we will use as a gallery for media installations and other art.

Also, make sure to check out Brian Milbrand’s Tech Director Report , to find out about our new DVD duplicator, bar code scanner and other equipment upgrades. Soon you will be able o duplicate your DVDs at Squeaky Wheel, plus print professional labels directly onto your DVD.

Also, get updated on Squeaky’s accomplished and dedicated board here – find out who recently became a new board member and who is our new board president now!

You can also find reviews of past events in this blog. We have two reviews - one by board member Chris Schobert about our Landscape and Memory Screening with work by Squeaky's NEA-artist resident Cade Bursell, Katerin McInnis, Jeanne Liotta and Rose Lowder; and one by board member Andrew Mitchell about Cade Bursell's Sound Mapping Workshop.

And click here to find out who recently joined our staff and became an intern at Squeaky Wheel.

I hope you enjoy this blog. Let us know what you think! As always, your ideas and suggestions are very welcome.

Warm greetings,

Dorothea
