This workshop will introduce participants to the basics and beauty of 16mm film production through hands-on training and experimentation. We will discuss all the technical aspects of working with 16mm film that you need to know in order to begin creating your own movies. Learn how to operate 16mm Bolex cameras, work with lighting equipment, record audio for film, create simple edits with splicers, work with Squeaky Wheel’s Steenbeck flatbed editor and more. All participants receive two rolls of film stock and Squeaky Wheel members receive one day of equipment rental and six hours of editing time using the Steenbeck flatbed editor.
